Who You Are...
As a carpenter in our precast division, you will construct structures using blueprints, wood and other raw materials such as steel, metal and concrete for our diverse precast products. You possess mechanical skills to work effectively with saws, chisels, hammers, rotary tools, etc., and ability to manage projects to meet deadlines.
This Position...
- Follow all safe work practices and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Read production blueprints and construct wooden forms and block outs with close tolerance to specifications for concrete production using a variety of machinery including table saws, radial saws, staple guns, skill saws, hammer, pneumatic nail gun, pneumatic palm sander, circular saws and other hand tools.
- Construct build-in-place or prefabricated wooden forms for molding concrete structures.
- Determines the type of material needed to create new forms and repair existing forms.
- Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or using hoists.
- Ability to determine the best type and quality of raw materials for projects.
- Trained to complete pre-operation equipment inspections and report any issues identified.
- Trained to set up, adjust, and operate all basic machine tools.
- Read and interpret work instructions, then execute work per instructions.
- Other duties as assigned.
What Do You Need...
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 5 years of experience in similar role
- Precast production experience a plus
- Ability to accurately read blueprints, written instructions, and a tape measure.
- Ability to work in a high paced environment while maintaining safety standards and following all safe work practices.
- A focus on prioritization, time efficiency, problem solving and teamwork.
- Ability to exert 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 40 pounds of force frequently and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- High proficiency in mathematics.
- Good visual acuity.
