OVERVIEW OF JOB
• Perform manual labor on construction project worksites
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
• Perform physical labor at project sites involving dexterous use of hands and tools including but not limited to framing, dry wall, painting, and concrete work.
• Assist construction crew as necessary at the direction of Site Superintendent.
• Shape or cut materials to specified measurements.
• Erect scaffolding and ladders, as needed.
• Install structures and fixtures including but not limited to windows, frames, floorings, trim, and hardware.
• Assist with the overall site safety and quality programs as required.
• Inspect all tools and power tools before use to ensure they are in safe and working condition.
• Timely report safety hazards and concerns to Site Superintendent.
• Maintain clean interior and exterior worksites through project completion.
• Dispose and collect waste and recyclables per contract documents.
• Comply with written safety instructions from tool and equipment manufacturers.
• Maintain positive working relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and other employees.
• Ability to travel and accommodate night and weekend work as needed.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Display a high level of teamwork, integrity, commitment, and leadership in daily operations.
• Occasionally perform duties outside scope of job description.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum of two (2) years of carpentry experience required.
• Valid driver’s license, required
• Basic knowledge of construction materials, methods, and tools.
• Ability to understand and interpret project drawings.
• Knowledge of foundations and framing of buildings or other structures.
• Knowledge of basic arithmetic and geometry, and their applications to carpentry.
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including uses, repair, and maintenance associated with carpentry and woodworking.
• Strong attention to detail. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. • Ability to accommodate night and weekend work as needed. • Comprehend safety instructions and signage. • Clear communication skills, especially in emergency situations. • Ability to obtain base clearance.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes, or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and risk of electric shock. The noise in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The employee is required to work in compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
