Job Summary:

Responsibilities:
As a Carpenter & CNC Apprentice, you will be responsible for meeting the following job requirements:
  • Be engaged and ready to assist and learn from experienced installers.
  • Correctly uses all apps for time tracking and work documentation.
  • Learns and Assists with assembling and installing residential cabinetry.
  • Learns and Assists with installing crown molding, light rail molding, doors, drawers, knobs and pulls, miscellaneous hardware, hinges, and rails.
  • Learns and Assists with verifying dimensions and checking the quality or fit of pieces to ensure specifications are met.
  • Learns and Assists with on-site measurements.
  • earns and Assists with measuring and marking dimensions of parts prior to cutting to ensure a tight fit and quality product.
  • Learns and Assists with reinforcing joints with nails or other fasteners to prepare cabinets for finishing.
  • Learns and Assists with attaching parts to form completed units, using glue, dowels, nails, screws, or clamps.
  • Learns to read blueprints to build or assemble parts.
  • Learns and Assists with cutting timber to the right size and shape and trims parts of joints to ensure a snug fit, using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, or wood files.
  • Learns and Assists with matching materials for color, grain, or texture.
  • Learns and Assists with trimming, sanding, or scraping surfaces or joints to prepare cabinets for finishing.
  • Learns and Assists to set up or operate machines, including power saws, jointers, molders, or shapers to cut, mold, or shape woodstock or wood substitutes.

Learns & Assists with the CNC machine:
  • Interacting with the sales team and project managers to thoroughly understand project requirements.
  • Setting up, operating, and maintaining all relevant tools and machines, including the CNC Cut Center, sanders and edge bander.
  • Preparing and loading raw materials in the CNC Cut Center.
  • Keying the specifications of cabinets, doors, panels and drawer boxes to be produced into the CNC Cut Center.
  • Verifying the dimensions and checks the quality or fit of pieces to ensure specifications are quality are met.
  • Trimming and sanding surfaces or joints to prepare cabinets, doors, panels and drawers for finishing.
  • Assembling cabinetry components to specifications, including edge banding all drawer boxes.
  • Labeling all pieces produced by the CNC Cut Center.
  • CNC Cut Center upkeep and maintenance including calibrating and changing tooling as needed.
  • Ordering all parts as necessary.
  • Supervising of the CNC Cut at all times while in operation.
  • Keeping track of all inventory used for projects and updating the monthly spreadsheet.
  • Learns wood species and grades.
  • Cleaning and arranging the work area after work is complete at the end of each day.
  • Stores items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to organization standards and policies.

Job Qualifications:
  • Experience: 1-3 years of related experience, preferred but not required.

Skills:
  • Active listening.
  • Good verbal communication.
  • Coordination.
  • Knowledge of Carpentry & Carpentry Equipment.
  • Troubleshooting.
  • Time management.

Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50-75 pounds safely.
  • Must be able to climb ladders without difficulty.
  • Must be able to perform overhead tasks, as well as tasks that include frequent bending and stooping.
  • Must be able to use hand power tools.

Job Details:
  • Compensation: Salary - Dependent on experience.
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday (8:30 am - 5:00 pm).
