Carousel Shipping Operator (Weekend Shift Sat-Mon)

The Carousel Shipping Operator reports to the Shipping Supervisor and works in MARSHALLTOWNs Armstrong Facility. This position is responsible for operating carousel machinery in picking parts and products for shipping, and restocking parts and products in the carousel, primarily focusing on small package orders. Anyone working in this position must also be able to perform the job functions of other positions within the shipping department as needed. This is a fast-paced position that requires efficiency, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.

Shift: Weekend "A' Shift - Monday, Saturday, Sunday 7am-7pm

Pay: $21.50/hr

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Picks and packs quality product in correct quantities for customer’s sale orders
• Operates carousel machinery in picking individual product and multi-product orders
• Ensures that orders are accurately filled by checking products against order tickets
• Performs quality inspections for product orders while picking product
• Utilizes packaging application to ensure that products are packaged in accordance with packaging standards and order specification
• Restocks parts in the carousel as given by material handlers and order pickers
• Communicates with material handlers to obtain parts for carousel restock when needed
• Maintains an accurate inventory by utilizing carousel software
• Maintains a clean work area
• Performs other job functions within the shipping department such as end of line, small package area, processing, and others as directed by supervisors
• Actively ensures that all safety requirements and procedures are met at all times

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Warehouse experience to include Carousel operation strongly preferred
• Ability to operate tablets and use basic computer software such as EDGE
• Ability to multitask in performing picking and packing functions within the carousel area, and ability to perform other job functions in the shipping department such as end of line, small package area, processing, and others as directed by supervisors
• Attention to detail, strong interpersonal communication, and efficient time management are essential skills
• Ability to calculate, reason, problem solve, and read and write in English

• meets harness and SRL (self retracting lifeline) weight capacity limits (130lbs-310lbs)
• Lifting up to 40 lbs, unassisted
• Frequent standing, walking, gripping, and reaching as well as occasional bending, twisting, kneeling, climbing, pushing/pulling, and reaching above shoulder level
• Work environment includes noise >85db as well as frequent exposure to hot and cold temperatures in the facility
• Requires ability to read, write, calculate, and reason
• Must be able to work overtime hours as required
