The Cargo Agent/Mechanic Helper ensures that customer freight and/or mail is accurately processed and safeguarded in safe and efficient manner according to Ryan Air policy and procedures. Mechanic Helper duties support Maintenance to ensure Company aircraft, vehicles and facilities are presentable to customers.
- Assists with freight and/or mail on hand daily reconciliation.
- Assists with the loading and unloading of aircraft, including aircraft associated with ground service contracts.
- Maintains ramp and mail and freight storage areas.
- Stage flight loads per pre load manifest.
- Loads aircraft.
- Marshals aircraft and GSE vehicles
- Assists customers with shipping, receiving, or locating their freight orders either in person or on the phone and making deliveries, as needed.
- Performs daily maintenance and fluid checks on ground service equipment.
- Cleaning interiors and exteriors of airplanes using established techniques and materials.
- Cleaning or stripping aircraft components.
- Cleaning facilities, including floors, windows, restrooms by mopping, scrubbing, washing, etc.
- Keeping work benches and tables clean and cleared.
- Support Station Manager and Lead CSA and Lead Cargo with all aspects of mainliner turns and support.
- Assist in maintaining cargo loading and restraint equipment.
- Keeping tools and supplies organized and clean.
- Assist in the shipping, receiving, pick up and deliveries, issuing and counting of the aircraft parts inventory.
- Assist in operation and repair of facility systems such as plumbing, heating, and general structure repair/modification.
- Assist in maintaining operational readiness of aircraft deicing fluids and equipment.
- Assist maintenance personnel in their duties in all phases of aircraft maintenance and care.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Must have excellent listening skills.
Ability to take directions, be flexible and stay on task.
Ability to analyze and solve problems.
Ability to safely operate power equipment such as buffers and table saws.
Some computer skills required.
Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Good mechanical aptitude.
Must be neat and organized.
Must have GED or High School diploma.
Requires frequent and routine lifting or moving items weighing over 70 pounds.
Prior applicable experience preferred.
Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment DOT/FAA drug test.
