- Provide personal care and assistance to individuals in their homes or care facilities
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature
- Administer medications according to prescribed schedules
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding if required
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, including cleaning and organizing living spaces
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided
Skills:
- Experience in senior care or home care preferred
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects or individuals as needed
- Knowledge of basic medical procedures and ability to monitor vital signs
- Understanding of different body systems and common health conditions in seniors
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with clients
- Ability to adapt to different caregiving environments, including childcare if necessary
- Knowledge of social work principles and techniques is a plus
