Annie Wilson Homecare Services, Inc. is a homemaker companion homecare agency.
The corporation expects contractors to deliver homecare services to clients with a specific quality of cleanliness, accommodation, and respect.
Upon becoming contracted with Annie Wilson Homecare Services, Inc., contractors are required to complete a Level II background screening, and certain trainings for compliance of state service laws.
TRAININGS
Zero Tolerance – Renewed every 3 years
APD Core Competency – One time Only
CPR/First Aid – Renew every year
HIV/AIDs/Bloodborne Pathogens – Renew every year
HIPPA – Renew every year
In-service trainings – 8 hours every year
Service specific trainings – as required
Annie Wilson Homecare has listed the primary duties of caregivers:
HOMEMAKER
The homemaker provider shall:
v Maintain the home in an optimum state of cleanliness and safety depending upon the client’s resources;
v Perform the functions generally undertaken by the
v Customary homemaker, including such duties as preparation of
v Meals, laundry, shopping, light household chores, and care of
v Children;
v Housekeeping activities include but are not limited to:
v Making/changing beds
v Dusting
v Washing dishes, pots, pans, utensils
v Cleaning kitchen counters, appliances, oven, stop top and burners
v Cleaning inside refrigerator
v Gathering up trash off of the floor, taking trash from inside house to outside
v Cleaning bathroom fixtures
v Sweeping/vacuuming/scrubbing floors
v Vacuuming carpets and upholstery
v Washing inside of windows, cleaning blinds – without climbing
v Mending clothes
v Laundry and ironing
v Teaching/performing meal planning and prep
v Cleaning up after meals
v Assisting with special diet plans and reinforcing dietary maintenance
v Shopping for essential items, groceries, cleaning supplies
v Performing errand runs, medication and post pick up
v Reading essential material
v Providing emotional support
v Assisting with communications and correspondence, written or typed
v Stabilize the client when walking, as needed, by holding the client’s arm or hand;
v Report to the appropriate supervisor any incidents or problems related to his work or to the caregiver;
v Report any unusual incidents or changes in the client’s behavior to the case manager; and
v Maintain appropriate work records.
v If requested by the client or his responsible party, the homemaker may verbally remind the client that it is time to take his or her medicine
INFREQUENT Housekeeping activities:
v Heavy cleaning: washing walls, ceilings, woodwork
v Cleaning and organizing closets, basements and attics to remove clutter and fire hazards
v Shampooing and securing carpets
v Organizing seasonal storages (ex: winter clothes, decorations)
v Spraying for insects and setting traps
v Replacing light bulbs, cords, fuse
RESPITE/COMPANIONS:
The respite/companion provider shall:
v Provide companionship for the client;
v Accompany the client to doctor appointments, recreational outings, or shopping;
v Provide light housekeeping tasks such as sweeping, washing dishes, or preparation of a meal
v Stabilize the client when walking, as needed, by holding the
v client ' s arm or hand;
v Maintain a chronological written record of services; and
v Report any unusual incidents or changes in the client’s behavior to the case manager.
v If requested by the client or his responsible party, the companion may verbally remind the client to take his or her medicine
v Providing companionship, friendship, and emotional support
v Talking and listening to shared experiences
v Playing card games, activities, reading to client
v Help client keep in contact with family, friends, and outside world
v Organizing and reading mail if needed
v Accompany client on walks, take client outside for air and sun
v Reminding client to eat and finish meals,
v Assist with local and long distant trips
v Assist with pet care
v Assist with activities that client may be limited to complete
COMPANIONS ARE NOT TO PROVIDE PERSONAL OR HANDS-ON CARE
* Have at least one year experience in home care or in a long term care facility* Be able to lift 25 lbs* Legally eligible for employment in the US* Have a valid Florida Driver's License and current auto insurance* Have a HS Diploma or GED* Speak fluent English

Pay: Up to $16.00 per hour
