Caregiver/Personal Care Aide

We are looking for a patient and attentive caregiver to care for our clients in their home in a professional and compassionate manner. There may be times when it can be demanding along with equal amount of quiet moments. The ideal candidate will be friendly and responsive with excellent verbal and written communication skills. You should be able to follow simple instructions and perform a variety of tasks and adjust according to clients needs.

Responsibilities

• Remind clients to take prescribed medication
• Providing mobility assistance may be required, for example helping the client in and out of bed, a chair, or a wheelchair. Able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of 20lbs
• Providing emotional support and encouragement to perform necessary tasks
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Help clients with physical therapy exercises
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion
• Monitoring and reporting changes in health, behavior, and needs or any unusual incidents to supervisor
• Remain calm and responsive during emergency situations that may occur

Skills

• Proven experience as a caregiver is preferred
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid (CPR) (preferred)
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
• Respectful and compassionate with all residents and other team members
• Good time management skills
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• A professional and friendly attitude. Team player
• A willingness to work flexible hours, which may include night shifts
• Strong work ethics
• Physical endurance
• High school diploma or equivalent'
