The Caregiver assists residents with activities of daily living and other pertinent care and support needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- The Caregiver will be reporting to the Executive Director or Lead Care Nurse.
- Serves meals and assists residents with mealtime needs.
- Aids staff in administering therapeutic activities, such as physical exercise, occupational arts and crafts, and recreational games for the residents.
- Redirects disruptive residents to prevent injury to themselves and others.
- Observes and documents resident’s behavior, such as speech production, and feeding patterns to facilitate assessment and treatment goals.
- Attends to routines Activities of Daily Living (AOL) of the residents.
- Gives medications as prescribed by a physician under a supervisor.
- Takes and records weight and vital signs under supervision.
- Engages with residents and participates with activities, programs, and socials, both scheduled and non-scheduled.
- Ensures the safety and well-being always of the resident.
- Follows residents’ service plans as written and properly documented as required.
- Reports and documents emergency incidents.
- Attends mandatory training and in service meetings and completes continuing education requirements.
Education/and/or Experience
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED),
- 0-3 months of related experience and or training.
- First aid/CPRt medication management preferred.

Expected hours: 36 – 44 per week
