  • Position Description:
    Career Coaches will work with participants that could be at any stage in their careers or learning: Entering the workforce for the first time, career transitions, seasoned professionals, managers, or executives. Coaches will work to determine the appropriate services using activities such as those listed below:
    • Assist participants through one-on-one appointments or walk-ins to determine career and learning goals
    • Help participants identify barriers and goals. Manage progress and advise participants on their career milestones with Career Success Plans
    • Promote Learning and Focused Outcomes to move toward results, perspectives and/or new understandings
    • Coach participants to acquire mechanical/technical or essential skills, like new tech skills or better interpersonal skills
    • Review and give feedback to improve resumes, cover letters and interview skill
    • Coach participants in career exploration and in navigating job applications
    • Career Coaches offer services to internal team members within GCNA. Our Retail Stores and Retail Donation Centers are exposed to a variety of environmental elements where teams are inspecting donated merchandise, analyzing quality and determining proper category, size and cleaning at a fast paced
    • Maintain accurate and complete electronic records of participant interactions, events, and all other work assignments

    Qualifications:
    • Communication (Oral / Written): Ability to communicate effectively with others and systems
    • Active Listening: Ability to actively attend to, convey, and understand others, reframing where required, and using appropriate terminology
    • Powerful Questioning: Ability to ask open-ended questions to identify not just facts, but possibilities
    • Customer Oriented: Ability to take care of internal and external customers' needs while following established procedures
    • Energetic: Ability to work through high-speed engagement and produce quality work
    • Enthusiastic: Ability to bring energy to the performance of a task
    • Tactful / Flexible: Ability to show consideration for and maintain good relations with others and changing directives
    • Honesty / Integrity: Ability to be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace
    • Decision Making: Ability to make critical decisions while following established procedures

    Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):
    • Some College preferred, or equivalent work experience
    • 2-3 years of related experience preferred
    • Demonstrates professionalism, business acumen and a drive to follow through and execute business needs
    • Ability to produce documents written with clearly organized thoughts using proper sentence construction, punctuation, and grammar
    • Ability to speak and read English proficiently, Bilingual a plus
    • Proficient in MS Office Suite and Google Drive
    • Valid drivers' license and clean driving record
    • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for position
