Job Description:
The Career Coach trains, supports, and equips clients for permanent employment at worksites by modeling tasks and appropriate worksite behaviors using various techniques such as hands-on training, goal settings, affirmations, redirection, community integration, and socialization by teaching and modeling professional communications with co-workers, managers, and supervisors. Provide 1:1 or 1:2 supervision and instruction to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities during their paid internship for a community employer.

- Case management skills including identifying problems of each client and working towards meeting those needs.
- Ability to develop innovative ideas to meet the changing training needs.
- Ability to problem solve and good time management skills, and mathematics skills.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide transportation from client's home to work site and back home after their shift.
- Adhere to transportation safety protocols when transporting the client (s).
- Accurately record daily transportation miles on the mileage form and submit the form on the due date of each month.
- Collaborate with other client transporters to assure safe and timely worksite drop offs and pick-ups.
- Study the client's behavioral/employment skills report to gain insight and to develop a customized approach to further enhance the social and vocational skills that the client will need to master to gain permanent employment.
- Understand the community employer's workforce culture, operations, safety protocols, and the job requirements for each position.
- Observe, learn, and master the employment skill sets to properly train the client(s).
- Assist the Program Supervisor in developing and implementing the internship performance evaluation.
- Conducts bi-weekly performance evaluations to measure the client's growth and to assess the strengths and needs of client(s) to help improve their capabilities.
- Effectively address problems that hinder employment development soft/hard skills such as inappropriate or aggressive behavior, grooming and hygiene, attendance issues, productivity, etc.
- Address client complaints and grievances in accordance with CCI policy.
- Interact with Employment Dream Coaches to discuss the clients' strengths, weaknesses, and behavioral patterns, and develop strategies to provide maximum support to the client in these areas.
- Provide daily employment summary notes utilizing the three-part question format and set monthly training goals with the client(s).
- Maintain and have immediate access to a working client file that includes emergency medical information and ISP objectives.
- Set a good example by following rules and directives of community employer, displaying to clients the proper techniques, habits, and proper work ethic for community employment.
- Maintain high level of quality standards through continual inspection of client's work as required by the individual site contract.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, while ensuring the safety of all persons assigned.
- Maintain client confidentiality by not dispersing information to other clients or coaches. All personal information and issues must be addressed with Employment Program Supervisor.
- Uphold and maintain all policies as stated in employee handbook.
- All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent; experience in vocational work training or teaching is helpful.
- Must have a valid CA Driver's License, 3 years driving experience, clear driving record, safe reliable transportation, and proof of current vehicle insurance.
- Current CPR and First Aid training required.

Physical Demands and Working Environment:
Environment: Work is performed indoors and outdoors with distractions; extended periods of time viewing computer monitor; possible exposure to dissatisfied individuals, in close proximity to others, and sitting for periods of time in vehicle transporting clients in your personal vehicle.
Physical: Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. by self, standing, walking, sitting, pushing, bending, pulling, squatting and working outside in the elements required; repetitive motion may be necessary.
Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents; and to operate assigned equipment and a motor vehicle.
Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
