Job Summary:

• Entry-level certified cardiovascular technologist.
• Utilizes basic skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes.
• Works under close supervision within clearly defined standard operating procedures (SOP) and/or scientific methods; adheres to quality guidelines.
• Aids physicians during electrophysiology (EP) procedures, providing technical support and basic patient care under the oversight of physicians, nurses, Cardiovascular Techs/Cert II (JC: 444602), or Cardiovascular Techs/Cert III (JC: 444702).
• Assists with and/or performs all job-related functions for loop implants/removals/changeouts, transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) procedures, cardioversion, noninvasive programming studies (NIPS), temporary pacemaker (PM) procedures, venograms, electrophysiology studies, right-sided ablations, PM placements, automated implantable cardioverter defibrillator (AICD) placements, device changeouts, and hematoma evacuations.
• Provides the highest quality patient care and ensures safety during patients’ stays in the EP Laboratory.
• Works within Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH) and EP Laboratory guidelines, policies, and procedures while complying The Joint Commission (TJC) requirements and achieving National Patient Safety Goals.

Reports: Director/Invasive Cardiology (JC:100001)

Required Education:

• Associate degree in cardiovascular technology or radiologic technology from an accredited program

Required Experience:

• None

Preferred Experience:

• One (1) year of job-related experience.

Required Certification/License/Registry:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and one of the following: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification, Cardiovascular Technician (CVT) certification, Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) credential, Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) credential, or other recognized related Human Resources (HR) approved certification(s). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within one (1) year post-hire.
