Position Summary:

A clinical competent Registered Nurse who delivers patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.

Responsibilities:

• Acquires and maintains knowledge of all equipment and procedures generally used in the care of patients in cardiac intervention.
• Navigate the EMR in order to retrieve data that will be entered into each specific registry
• Accurately enter data into the NCDR Cath/PCI and GWTG-CAD Registries meeting the specified quarterly deadlines.
• Identify and report deficiencies to the Quality Manager and Manager of Cardiac Services.
• Identify missing or inaccurate documentation and clarify when necessary by communicating with Quality Manager
• Understand the purpose and importance of the NCDR Cath/PCI, GWTG-CAD Registries and TCAR registries.
• Possess a basic understanding of carotid and coronary anatomy, physiology and basic concept of left heart catheterization/PCI and carotid interventions.
• Have a basic understanding of medications and the need for prescription at discharge for STEMI and NSTEMI patients.
  • DAPT – Aspirin, Plavix, Brilinta, Eliquis, Coumadin, etc.
  • Beta Blockers
  • ACE/ARBs
  • Statins – high, moderate, and low intensity
  • Herbs and supplements
  
  

Requirements:

• Current R.N. licensure for Ohio
• Preferred experienced with training in interventional laboratories
• Complete NCDR training courses
