Job Description:
A Cardiology Technician, also known as a Cardiac Technician or Cardiac Catheterization Technologist, plays a vital role in assisting cardiologists and other medical professionals in diagnosing and treating heart-related conditions. The job responsibilities may vary based on the specific healthcare setting, but a typical job description for a Cardiology Technician might include the following:
1. Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for various cardiac procedures, including explaining the procedure, obtaining medical history, and answering any questions or concerns.
2. Operating Equipment: Operate and maintain specialized cardiac equipment used in diagnostic testing, such as electrocardiogram (EKG/ECG) machines, stress testing equipment, Holter monitors, echocardiography machines, and cardiac catheterization technology.
3. Conducting Tests: Perform various cardiac tests and procedures under the direction of a cardiologist or physician. This includes conducting EKGs, stress tests, Holter monitoring, echocardiograms, and cardiac catheterizations.
4. Monitor Patient Vital Signs: Monitor patients' vital signs during procedures and be prepared to assist in case of any emergencies or adverse reactions.
