Department Specific Competencies
Demonstrates knowledge of the pathophysiology of diseases or conditions for which specific Cardiology and Nuclear Medicine Tests are indicated.
- Demonstrates knowledge of electrocardiography, cardiac arrhythmias and electrophysiology, including normal and abnormal responses to different types of levels of exercise.
- Assists and supports a new or transferred employee through a planned orientation.
Assesses patient prior to procedure including medications, allergies, previous history and any barriers to stress testing.
Supervises exercise treadmill testing according to appropriate protocol.
Collects and analyzes information about the patient and the environment for use in promoting and maintaining patient safety.
Prevents, recognizes and facilitates treatment of abnormal cardiac rhythms.
Assists with Tilt Table Studies.
Administers Echo Enhancement Agent
Administers agitated saline injection for echocardiograms.

Analyzes patient lab data to assist with clinical decision making.
Understands pathophysiology related to patients experiencing arrhythmias, both atrial and v ventricular.
Prepares, gives, evaluates and documents the effectiveness of prescribed drugs.
Educates the patient to understand information related to specific disease process
Reviews the contents and equipment of an emergency cart at established time intervals.
Records pertinent patient data in a clinical record.
