Job description

The EKG Tech is responsible for performing all non-invasive EKG/EP procedures which include cross coverage for exercise lab performing both routine and metabolic stress test.

Shifts Available

  • Monday through Friday, 8a to 4:30p

Responsibilities

  • Perform all diagnostic procedures and clerical responsibilities, procedures include: electrocardiogram, holter monitoring, exercise stress tests, atrio studies, and arrythmia monitoring.
  • Cross coverage to assist the stress lab; maintain accounting records, physician reimbursement, monthly statistical reports, billing procedures and perform other supervisory tasks; and conduct quality assurance studies within the department.
  • Recognizes and solves typical problems that can occur in own work area; evaluates and selects predefined solutions from established operating procedures
  • Interact with vendors to obtain prices for supplies, follow up on purchase orders, and to discuss new supplies and equipment; reconcile patient charges and credits for the department; interview prospective employees; train and orient new employees; initiate departmental procedures; and revise departmental practices; and perform other duties and special projects as required.

Work Experience

  • At least 1 year of previous experience Required.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training beyond high school Required
  • Two-year Associate's degree or equivalent experience Preferred

License and Certification

  • Cardiographic Technician Certification Preferred
