Sentara Heart Hospital located at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Cardiac Technician for the Cardiac Procedural RecoveryShort Stay Unit!
This position is Part-Time Nights: 24 hours a week working 7pm to 7am, rotating every third weekend.
Department Overview:
The Cardiac Procedural Recovery & ShortStay Unit (CPRS) is an 8-bed unit that will be open 24 hours 7 days a week. Our typical patient population will consist of Cardiac patients post procedure who require an overnight stay, Cardiac patients from the ED, and Facility to facility transfers for known cardiac procedures.
Responsibilities:
The expectations for this role will complete all the patients ADLs, assist with ambulating, and routine care as a Nursing Care Partner/Patient Care Tech but with the added competencies of starting PIVs, pulling sheaths, and maintaining hemostasis, and assisting nurses in monitoring telemetry. EKG Holter Monitor Hook-up experience preferred. On-the-job training required.
Required:
High School Grad or Equivalent
Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
