The opportunity

• The primary function of a card operator is to operate and maintain cards in a safe and efficient manner.
• This role reports to the Shift Supervisor

The role

• Operate cards safely and in a way to ensure maximum quality and efficiency. Correct machine stops and repair broken sliver by splicing the ends together.

• Clean scrapper blades, bottom rollers under web control, twist out front.

• Waste cans should be emptied as often as necessary.

• Clean between cards and always sweep carding area as often as necessary to maintain good housekeeping.

• All Doors on cards must be closed.

• All plastic covers must be on cards
• Standing and walking at a steady pace for 12 Hour shifts minus assigned breaks

• Good hand and eye coordination and hand dexterity

• Bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling consistently throughout the shift

• Ability to lift to 25 lbs without accommodation

• Ability to work in cotton dust environment of 75 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit

• Daily exposure to noise which requires proper personal protective equipment

Training will be provided for the qualified candidate.

What you bring to the role

Knowledge & Expertise

· High School Diploma preferred

· Prior textile experience preferred, but not required

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
