About the Position:
This position, within the Capital Delivery Division, performs Capital Project management work and provides direction, support, coordination, and assistance on a variety of transportation Capital Projects under the supervision of a Capital Project Manager IV. Responsibilities include collaborative project development, affirming project scopes, assembling internal and external design teams, creating and tracking project budgets and schedules, convening project team meetings, review of project deliverables, coordination with other PBOT work groups, coordination with external bureaus and agencies, issue resolution, and public and stakeholder involvement.
The Capital Project Manager I position leads the delivery of small- to moderate-sized Capital Projects and ensures that projects meet scope, schedule, budget, and public involvement expectations. The Capital Project Manager I position will also collaborate on large-sized Capital Projects with senior-level staff.
An ideal candidate will have experience in infrastructure planning and/or delivery, such as project management, infrastructure design, engineering, construction, transportation planning, transportation policy, environmental assessment, right-of-way, infrastructure finance, public involvement, communications, or other related work.
The current vacancy is in the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT). Other bureaus may use the eligible list development from this recruitment to fill future vacancies.

To Qualify
The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:
  1. Experience with transportation or other public infrastructure such as policy, planning, design, engineering, construction, or project management.
  2. Experience effectively problem-solving and partnering with community members, community groups, internal/outside agencies, and/orcontractors.
  3. Experience with public involvement such as work within communities affected by projects or programs.
  4. Experience applying project management and program planning techniques.
  5. Experience meeting deadlines and prioritizing competing demands on multiple projects
