Job description

Welcome to nuEra, where we're not just growing plants – we're growing rapidly as one of Illinois' top cannabis companies. In the past year alone, we've rolled out three new brands and we have two more getting ready to hit the shelves. We currently run six dispensaries (and counting) plus one of the state’s major cultivation centers. We're on a fast track in a market that's just as dynamic as we are. If you're looking to make a splash in a field that's fresh, exciting, and full of growth, you've found your spot!

The Cannabis Medical Patient Advisor plays a critical role in providing medical cannabis education and guidance to patients and consumers in the context of medical cannabis use. This role involves assisting patients in understanding the potential benefits and risks associated with medical cannabis, making informed decisions, and ensuring they receive safe and effective treatment options. The Cannabis Medical Patient Advisor also stays up-to-date with current research and regulations in the field of medical cannabis to provide accurate and reliable information. If you're enthusiastic about the cannabis industry, enjoy educating others, and thrive in a dynamic, customer-centric environment, we invite you to apply and become an integral part of our nuEra team!

To be a successful candidate, you should be at least 21 years of age and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment, given our ongoing growth. We value motivation, trustworthiness, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage in individual consultations with patients interested in medical cannabis treatment, where you discuss their medical history, symptoms, and treatment objectives. Additionally, host one to two educational events each month.
  • Provide comprehensive information about the potential benefits, risks, and side effects of medical cannabis use, helping patients make informed decisions.
  • Offer personalized recommendations for appropriate cannabis strains, dosages, and consumption methods based on individual patient needs and conditions.
  • Continuously oversee and reevaluate patients' treatment plans for effectiveness, making any necessary adjustments, and conduct follow-up check-ins with new patients 30 days after their initial appointments.
  • Stay current with the latest medical cannabis research, products, and regulations, and apply this knowledge to patient interactions and recommendations.
  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of diverse cannabis products, their components, and the potential effects they may have, to provide patients with accurate information. This includes being well-versed in various product categories, such as flower, concentrates, edibles, and topicals.
  • Arrange in-store table setups twice a week, with each session lasting a minimum of two hours on two separate days. Additionally, schedule renewal sessions as required, and ensure there are five new patient medical sessions booked on a weekly basis.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local regulations, including verifying patient eligibility and maintaining accurate records of patient consultations and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, ensuring compliance with all privacy laws and regulations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to patients, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
  • Complete required training sessions and stay up to date product knowledge.
  • Additional duties may be required as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one-year of cannabis experience required.
  • In-depth knowledge of cannabis strains, products, and their effects, as well as an understanding of the endocannabinoid system.
  • Exceptional abilities in customer service and communication.
  • Strong focus on precision and accuracy when maintaining records.
  • Flexibility to work required evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
