Form of workThe Dog Stop is looking for a Canine Enrichment Specialist to work with our canine guests and create and supervise small groups of dogs. This program was specifically designed for our guest who cannot participate or do not enjoy the social daycare enviroment to help keep their brains and bodies stimulated.
Preferred candidates will have the following experience and skillsets:
- Strong behavior knowledge with a background in positive reinforcement/LIMA handling.
- Interest in progressive scientific research regarding canine behavior/body language/physiology/enrichment.
- Customer Service – This position includes some customer-facing interactions and a clear, pleasant demeanor and ability to communicate effectively is of the utmost importance.
- Canine/Kennel experience specifically in regards to behavior is preferred but not required.
- Continued Education – The person in this position is expected to stay up to date and informed with regards to continued education seminars, articles and publications.
- Flexible schedule - This job is Monday-Friday and is a set schedule, typically 9-5, but is negotiable. No weekends required.
Training will be provided by our current Enrichment Specialist.
