Description:
Midway University is seeking applicants for a Full-Time Campus Security Officer for 3rd Shift. Position hours and days are from 9:00 pm - 7:00 am (Thursday - Friday - Saturday - Sunday)
A college campus is a very busy place. There are people coming and going at all hours of the day and night. Keeping our students, faculty, and staff safe and secure is one of our top priorities. We need individuals you can both learn and enforce our procedures and guidelines and who are willing to diligently monitor areas and consistently provide security services to our campus.
Examples of what you will do during a shift:
- Respond quickly and appropriately to any emergency, having the necessary departmental knowledge relating to emergency preparedness
- Help, when requested, to assist students in moving about campus, particularly after dark.
- Continuously patrol the campus and campus buildings, most often on foot, investigating any suspicious activities and reporting any observed hazards (lighting, doors, etc.)
- Respond promptly to calls for assistance or reports through LiveSafe.
- Be able to approach circumstances or situations with sensitivity, discretion, and confidentiality.
Required qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred; 1-3 years of law enforcement, campus safety or security experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have a current Kentucky driver’s license and be approved as an authorized driver by the University and be insurable under university guidelines.
These positions involve moderate lifting, the use of stairs and extensive walking in all weather conditions. Experience using Microsoft Office products is highly desirable.
