Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Campus Manager in Business and Strategic Planning. The position will be located in Cambridge, MA. An internal pre-identified candidate for consideration has been identified. However, all applications will be considered.

The Campus Manager will work within the Johnson & Johnson R&D Cambridge Management team and will play a significant role in crafting, improving, and implementing site specific processes and practices in governance, communications, and culture with the aim to bring therapeutic teams and business partners together to use ideas, resources and talent.

Key Responsibilities:

The candidate identifies gaps and makes recommendations to improve facility programs that can be resolved at the campus level including governance, lab operations and services, Handles organizational change efforts to address campus growth. Establishes and maintains a network of contacts to facilitate the adoption of common practices and keeps a tight-knit scientific community.

Enhances & implements a communication strategy for the site in alignment with R&D Communications, supplying a variety of communications services related to the business' internal communications programs. Will improve communication tools, frequency, and clarity of communication to increase employee engagement.

He/she/they will be responsible for the DE&I campus strategy implementation and creating a campus culture of scientific excellence embedding cultural values of innovation, collaboration, and creativity.

The scope of duties includes, but is not limited to, assessing effectiveness of existing programs and the needs of new processes and systems, developing solutions to a variety of complex problems, working to ensure efficient operations, collaborating with internal business partners (operations, facilities, legal, IT, HR, etc.) and the Governance team. Handling partnerships with external communication vendors, lab service providers, and other external partners. Coordinating campus programs, events, and handling internal communications projects (portal, newsletter, digital signage). Serving as primary point of contact for Employee Resource Groups (ERG’s) and site committees. Leads the campus ambassador program to welcome new employees, visitors, and collaborators.

The successful Manager enables processes to ensure forward-thinking decision making, works with independence and a sense of urgency, has excellent social skills (ability to build links and trust with various partners), and is moved by the mission of Janssen R&D. He/she/they will generates reports and metrics to measure site performance. Manages and records campus expenses.

Qualifications

  • The successful candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, Communication, Project Management, or other related area. Advanced Degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years dynamic business experience with at least 2 years in a pharmaceutical or biotech environment is required.
  • He/she/ they must demonstrate excellent communication, project management, organizational change, strong influencing skills, and have a detailed understanding of a team and matrix environment.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness while running multiple projects simultaneously and ability to navigate complexity throughout the organization is required.
  • Ability to work independently with excellent organizational skills is required.
  • Earlier experience developing communication strategies and cadence plan is required.
  • Experience in leading company events is preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Microsoft SharePoint, MS VISIO and CAD is preferred.
