Campus Aide
Objective and Job Summary:
Under the direction and supervision of the Principal, the Campus Aide is responsible for enabling students, through meaningful playground leadership, to enjoy group interaction and physical exercise which are an integral part of the Scholarship Prep educational program. The Noon Duty Aide is responsible for providing a safe, clean and orderly environment for all students. S/he assists with all recreational activities and provides a positive example for Scholarship Prep students in their charge.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Model and ensure the values of Scholarship Prep are upheld;
- Maintain high expectations for all students;
- Provide a nurturing, safe, and structured environment;
- Know school safety procedures and emergency information;
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities;
- Maintain a professional appearance as an example for students;
- Monitor student behavior on the school campus;
- Coordinate with the Principal on enforcement of specific rules and regulations and reports any behavior problems, accidents or exceptional incidents;
- Utilize the school’s discipline plan;
- Supervise children in an assigned area, guiding activities such as eating, playing, and use of restrooms;
- Direct play activities and the use of play equipment;
- Assist in establishing and maintaining a pleasant environment for recreation
- Assume responsibility for the safety of children;
- Prevent children from engaging in unsafe activities;
- Perform daily cleaning duties as assigned to maintain comfort, cleanliness and orderliness of environment and equipment;
- Perform standard paperwork and record-keeping as required; (i.e. sign-in sheets, behavior/incentive charts, etc)
- Maintain communication with one another from shift to shift regarding the children in the program. This will be accomplished through each staff member contributing to and reviewing the logbook during each and all shifts;
- Maintain cleanliness of campus (sweeping, cleaning tables, picking up trash, etc.)
- Attend and participate in training sessions and in-services to increase knowledge and the effectiveness of working with the children/families served; and
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent required Bachelor’s degree with related major preferred
OR 2 years of college (48-semester units) OR AA degree (or higher, work experience in related field preferred, course work in the areas of tutoring, child guidance or related subjects may be substituted for the preferred work experience.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
