Campground Manager

We are looking for a self-starter who has experience successfully leading people to join our team as Office Manager of River Bend Family Campground, a popular 240 site, predominately seasonal campground, along the Olentangy River, about 5 minutes east of Marion. We have a beautiful campground that central Ohioans have been visiting since the 1950s. We are sold out for seasonal reservations for 2024!

THIS POSITION IS NOT OPEN TO ANYONE WHO IS CURRENTLY A SEASONAL CAMPER, OR WHOSE IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBERS ARE SEASONAL CAMPERS, AT RIVER BEND FAMILY CAMPGROUND.

The job hours are as follows:

- Mondays - 1 hour phone call (exact time tbd)

- Thursdays - 30 min-1 hour phone call (exact time tbd)

- Fridays - Onsite from Noon-8pm

- Saturdays - Onsite from 10am-4pm

Training for this position begins the week of March 18. The position ends on October 31st. You will need to be onsite almost all Fridays and Saturdays during that time period. You can miss a few planned weekends here or there, but generally, you are expected to be on site on Fridays and Saturdays during the season.

The core components of the job are interacting with short-term campers when they check in, fielding questions and concerns from all campers and relaying them to ownership, helping owners with small projects, and serving as the person in charge of the campground when you are present at the campground.

DUTIES

- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the campground, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all guests
- Manage the front desk and handle guest check-ins and check-outs
- Provide excellent customer service and address any guest concerns or issues
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure efficient camp operations
- Maintain a clean and organized camp environment
- Assist with planning and organizing camp activities and events
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols
- Manage camp staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations

SKILLS

- Front desk experience in a hotel or hospitality setting is preferred
- Strong guest relations skills and a passion for providing exceptional customer service
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle difficult situations with professionalism

MOST IMPORTANT REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Email (You can respond to emails on behalf of the campground without major errors in grammar or spelling).
• Word Processing (You can use Word and Excel. If you need to create a flyer, you can do it easily and professionally. We can also teach you how to do this using Canva.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
