Purpose:

Acropolis is looking for a dedicated, qualified CAD BIM Designer to support our clients in North Carolina. If you like to work within a small, focused, team supported project environment, then this could be the perfect job for you!

Duties:

Perform routine, CAD and designer level tasks under the direct supervision of a senior engineer or specialist with the goal of developing more advanced applied engineering skills. Please note this is an intern/entry level position. Training will be provided on all software, hardware and assigned tasks.

Requires the ability and willingness to learn and demonstrate proficiencies in the following basic core skill areas:

DESIGN LEVEL TASKS:

· Support design efforts and develop drawings in AutoCAD Electrical.

· Develop panel layouts and detailed electrical schematics.

· Support bench testing efforts and support factory acceptance tests on new client systems.

· Attend preliminary meetings with the client to understand the project specifications and scope of work.

· Work with construction team members to establish a timeline and budget for the design.

· Use design software to produce 2D and/or 3D designs in REVIT and or SolidWorks, depending on the complexity of the project.

· Notify engineers and project managers of the design’s progress and when the designs are complete.

· Get feedback from the client and revise designs as needed.

COMPUTER SUPPORT LEVEL TASKS:

· Provide technical support and guidance to resolve users computer hardware and software problems.

· Communicate with users via phone, chat, email, and/or a support ticketing system to assess the scope of the problem and determine what, if any, resolution steps users have performed.

· Maintain log of support services provided in the ticketing system or other appropriate database.

· Apply knowledge of computer software and hardware to assist users in resolving problems.

· Install and maintain peripheral devices including new hardware, software, laptops, printers, hubs, routers, and other equipment.

· Conduct periodic diagnostics and testing to ensure optimal network function and minimal downtime.

· Coordinate service or replacement of defective products from vendors and manufacturers.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Pursuing 2- or 4-year degree or related academic certification.

· Prior military or transitioning service member a plus.

Skills and Abilities:

· Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced collaborative environment.

· Excellent verbal and communication skills.

· Ability to comprehend and follow directions.

· Ability to handle multiple tasks, have excellent attention to detail and be willing and able to learn innovative technologies quickly.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software programs.

Physical Requirements:

· Requires constant standing and moving 8-12 hours per day.

· Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.

· Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and kneel.

· Must be able to push and pull up to 15 lbs.

· Must be able to reach overhead.

· Must be able to travel to various job sites and locations for work and to obtain necessary data.
