Form of workWalsh is currently seeking a CAD Technician for our Midwest Heavy Civil Division in Chicago, IL.
The CAD Technician will assist and support the Construction Technology division with daily coordination derived from contract plans & documents, to field production operations.

In this role, responsibilities include;
- Assisting and supporting the Midwest Heavy Highway division with Planning and Analysis
- Maintenance of project CAD models for Automated Machine Control
- Managing of project virtual data
- Project estimating requests for CAD exhibits
- Coordination of Subcontracting designs
- Document control (RFIs, submittals, change orders, claims, etc.)
We are seeking entry-level candidates with the following qualifications:
- Degrees in Civil Engineering or Construction Management are desirable
- Knowledge of general construction practices and procedures
- Experience with virtual models and software.
- Experience with Autodesk Civil 3d, Trimble Business Center, or Microstation
- Experience in roadway/bridge construction and modelling
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Ability to prioritize and manage time
- Self-motivated individual with strong follow up skills
- Ability to establish relationships
