ms consultants is seeking a talented and motivated CAD Manager to join our Water Business Unit in any of our ms offices. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the creation, maintenance, and efficient operation of computer-aided design systems within the Business Unit. The primary focus of this role will be to coordinate our team of technicians/designers, implement CAD standards and procedures, and ensure the seamless integration of CAD software and tools into the organization’s workflow. This involves detailed CAD construction drawings, topographic profiles, and related maps used in the planning and construction of civil engineering projects including water distribution, wastewater collection, water / wastewater treatment, and stormwater.

What You'll Do:

Specific responsibilities include:

• Mentor our team of CAD technicians/designers.
• Perform CAD design / drafting on projects within the business unit.
• Evaluate, select, and implement CAD software and tools suitable for the company's needs. This includes maintaining and upgrading CAD systems to ensure optimal performance and functionality.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide technical support to users.
• Develop and enforce CAD standards, protocols, and best practices to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements including guidelines for efficient data management, file organization, and version control.
• Liaise with various departments to understand their CAD requirements and provide solutions.
• Facilitate communication between CAD team members and other stakeholders to ensure project alignment and smooth workflows.
• Implement quality control measures to ensure accuracy, consistency, and precision in CAD designs and drawings.
• Conduct regular reviews and audits of CAD work to maintain high standards of quality.
• Create documentation, reports, and presentations related to CAD processes, performance, and improvements.
• Maintain records of CAD projects, changes, and updates for reference and future analysis.

What You'll Bring:

We are looking for someone who understands CAD standards, procedures and enjoys working in a collaborative, matrixed team environment.

• Certification in CAD management or related field
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) and other related tools
• Experience in implementing CAD-related automation or process improvement initiatives
• Familiarity in 3D modeling, BIM (Building Information Modeling), or other advanced CAD technologies
• Management or supervisory experience preferred
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail
