SAIC is seeking a CAD Designer to support the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDEVCOM), Engineering and Systems Integration (ESI) Directorate, Quick Reaction Capability (QRC) Branch.
This position is on-site in Aberdeen, MD. SAIC provides relocation assistance.
In support of the Information Analysis Center Multiple Award Contract (IAC MAC) and Task Order (TO), SAIC is seeking multiple qualified and cleared candidates. We are currently assembling our team of experienced professionals who have in-depth experience in providing expertise to support research, development, assessments, adaption, transformation, testing, integration, demonstrations, transition, fielding, sustainment, and enhancement of designated information and/or intelligence software systems.
Job Duties:
- Creates and modifies detailed drawings using standard computer aided design (CAD) digitizing techniques and skills from sketches, layouts or notes provided by engineering
- Digitizes, edits, and revises engineering drawings of components, parts, circuits, structures and/or assemblies
- Checks drawing plots versus the project input for correctness and conformance to standards
- Works with engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and ECN/ECR documentation
- May make engineering computations, mathematical calculations, determines scales, and prepares or revises specifications
- May prepare pattern generating or artwork tapes for mask fabrication and operates plotters to obtain circuit drawings
- Selects and monitors vendor support for CAD engineers and technicians to ensure state-of-the-art applications and equipment by expansion of systems and linkage to automated test equipment
- Oversees enhancement of software to company standards and practices, promotes expansion of applications for users
- Monitors those who maintain the system and provides advice regarding problem areas and corrective action to be taken
- Works closely with the design engineers and technicians to ensure project are completed
Qualifications
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and five (5) years or more experience; four (4) years' experience can be accepted in lieu of degree
Clearance Requirements:
- A Top Secret Clearance is required to begin employment; a TS/SCI Security Clearance is required to maintain employment
Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
