Cad Designer Ii

JOB SUMMARY

Chastain & Associates LLC (Chastain) has an exciting opportunity for a CAD Designer II working with public or private infrastructure projects from our Rockford, Illinois office. The CAD Designer II will be responsible for carrying out a variety of drafting assignments using independent judgment and initiative, preparing layouts, drawings, and designs according to engineering specifications using AutoCAD and/or related software.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist civil engineers with project development and plan production.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, redlines, sketches, details, calculations, and documentation.
• Generate transportation CAD plans and hardcopies based on an engineer’s design and standard engineering practice.
• Provide quantity calculations, estimates of time, estimates of cost, and project updates as needed.
• Assist with assembling bid documents.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate in engineering technology or equivalent
• Proficient in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Familiarity with transportation plans and technical drawings.
• Ability to read, understand and apply regulatory codes and ordinances.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
