Overview: We are looking for a dedicated Drop Bury Technician to join our dynamic team. The primary role of this position is to install and bury fiber optic lines, ensuring reliable and efficient connectivity for our customers. This job requires technical skills, physical labor, and the ability to work in various outdoor conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

Fiber Line Installation: Run and bury fiber optic lines from terminal points to homes or businesses, ensuring secure and efficient installation.

Boring and Trenching: Perform necessary boring and trenching activities for cable installation, including under driveways and walkways.

Cable Handling and Management: Manage and handle fiber optic cables and equipment with care to avoid damage.

Site Restoration: Restore job sites to their original condition post-installation, ensuring minimal disruption to the area.

Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct basic tests to ensure installation quality. Address and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the installation process.

Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines and regulatory standards during installation and burying processes.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate documentation of installation activities, routes, and any issues encountered.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in cable installation, construction, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to operate machinery and tools required for trenching and boring.
• Physical fitness to perform manual labor, including lifting, digging, and standing for extended periods.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

• Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and communicate with clients.
• Problem-solving abilities to address challenges encountered on-site.

Some important points to know or understand:

· We work in all types of weather including extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.

· We work on some holidays & Saturdays – We can be somewhat flexible with scheduling/days, but this is a full-time position.

· A successful candidate will be responsible, professional, organized, have attention to detail, & an ability to work independently as well as in a team environment with direct supervision.

· We do offer Company vehicles & Fuel Cards, so a valid driver’s license & an approved MVR are necessary.
