Position Overview
The Cabinet Assembly Assistant is responsible for the safe and quality construction of cabinetry components. Experience in these things is not required and training will be provided to the right person. This position involves manual tasks of various types, including lifting and moving heavy and bulky objects, operation of hand and power tools, assistance with in-home installations of cabinetry, driving the box truck to receive deliveries and deliver cabinetry to clients’ houses, and shop clean-up and maintenance.
Wage Range: $18-22 per hour, depending on experience. Opportunity for paid time off with accrued hours of work.
Hours: Though we have some flexibility, typical hours are 7am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday. Opportunity for overtime.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
Reports to the Workshop Manager while in the workshop and Installation Manager on job sites.
Performs cabinet assembly.
Operates CNC Router.
Operates edge banding equipment.
Installs doors and drawers.
Performs quality control and raises concerns about quality issues to management.
Operates small power tools, including saws, drills, sanders, jointer, planer, routers, and more.
Operates sanders to sand items such as cabinet doors and panels.
Applies finish including stains, paints, polyurethanes, oils, and more.
Moves heavy sheet goods, lumber, and finished products.
Assists with installations in customer homes.
Assists in workshop maintenance including daily clean-up such as sweeping, putting away tools, organization, disposal of waste and scrap wood.
Performs other responsibilities as assigned to assist in ACW’s small business team environment.
Qualifications

Education/Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
Previous related experience in trade-related field is a plus.
Must be reliable and responsible to work with hazardous equipment in a fast-paced workshop.
Must be a good fit with the team and contribute to our positive work environment.
Work Requirements
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and diagrams.
Ability to learn and grow proficiency in the assigned responsibilities.
Ability to interact appropriately with customers and others in the workshop and on worksites.
Some computer experience.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.
Ability to work safely in a potentially dangerous environment.
Ability to work well with others in a group or one on one setting.
Ability to work independently to accomplish assigned tasks.
Ability to lift heavy objects and work on your feet for a full day.
Must not work under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to dust and chemicals (PPE provided), rough and splintered wood, hot or cold conditions; moving mechanical parts; and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
