Assigned to cover various line pilot routes or spare pilot, a week at a time. Typically domiciled at a hub. Typical week starts Monday (possibly Sunday depending on distance) traveling to the assigned outstation to be in position for pm operations. Once in position, Fly freight from outstation airport to hub airport. Overnight at the hub. At the pilots domicile hub, overnight at home. If the assignment is away from the pilots domicile, overnight in CSA provided accommodations, hotel, or crew apartment. In the morning fly freight from the hub airport to outstation airport. Pilot would have the day to themselves at the outstation until pm operations. This repeats until Friday morning or Saturday morning depending on the specific route. Days at the outstation. Nights at home if that hub is the pilots domicile. We try to keep the floating pilots working in the area of their hub, but it is not always possible. If the pilot is assigned away from their hub they would be away from home for that entire week. Experience a variety of airports and cities. Schedule is variable. More travel. Nine weeks of paid time off (PTO) assigned by Operations, in addition to regular vacation.
