Buyer/Manager Produce Department- Farm Market

Trax Farms is a family-owned agricultural farm and Farm Market. For over 150 years we have supplied the finest home grown produce in the area.
We are now looking to hire a Buyer/Manager to provide leadership in our Produce Department. Responsibilities will include coordinating the supply of home grown produce
and ordering raw products and supplies for the department, implementing merchandising initiatives that promote sales, while providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities & Duties:

• Orders products and supplies to meet customer requirements.
• Control waste by improving operations and efficiencies, by controlling labor costs and by reducing losses.
• Responsible for team scheduling, training, and delegation of work assignments.
• Set up and create displays for new and seasonal items as well as home grown items.
• Receive merchandise including inspecting the product, pricing, and restocking cases to insure freshness and quality, accuracy, and product rotation.
• Meet all health department regulations and meet company standards.
• Perform duties of team as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills:

• Previous produce experience is a plus- we are willing to train
• Good leadership skills to direct the work of others while remaining a team player.
• Strong oral and written communication skills for assisting customers, associates and vendors, above average analytical skills to understand and interpret various reports.
• Strong mathematic skills
• Friendly, welcoming personality, excellent customer service skills
• Great work ethic, strong time management skills, and attention to detail.
• Computer knowledge, POS, Excel spreadsheets.

Physical Requirements:

• Lifting and carrying over 50lbs
• Operating equipment (forklift, power jack)
• Bending, reaching, grasping, great finger dexterity
• Standing for extended periods and walking 8+ hours/shift
• Must be able to read and write in English
