Business/Reporting Analyst

MESSER Financial Group, an Insurance Field Marketing Organization (FMO) in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Business/Reporting Analyst to join our growing Reporting team. This is an in-office position.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Utilizing diverse internal and external data sources, normalize and consolidate data to create reports needed to make critical business decisions. Update reports as new data is received.
• Provide trend and comparative analysis in report/chart format.
• Reconcile and cleanse data discrepancies across multiple source systems. Participate in the development of operational procedures to maintain data accuracy and integrity.
• Work with executives to develop new reports as business needs evolve.
• Create/Maintain a common repository for all reports to ensure most current reports are available to users.
• Interface with vendors and carriers to obtain data needed to meet reporting needs.
• Other duties as assigned by department manager.

Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, data analysis, math or equivalent degree, or experience working in a Finance, Math, Technical, Data Analysis, or equivalent position.
• Expert skills in Excel, including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Charts, and other advanced functions.
• Experience in creating/preparing business analytical reports – candidates contacted for an in-person interview are encouraged to bring a sample of their work product.
• Unwavering attention to detail.
• Ability to meet aggressive reporting deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• This is an in-office position.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic understanding of the insurance industry
• Experience with Tableau
• Basic MySQL
• Experience with ShareFile and/or OneDrive
• Basic Macros
• 2-3 years of professional work experience

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation

This a full-time, hourly position with occasional overtime required as needed to meet workload and critical deadlines. Annual compensation range of $68,000-$80,000, dependent upon experience, which includes a profit-sharing target of 15% of base compensation paid. Actual profit-sharing amount paid is based on the company’s financial performance and individual’s contribution to company’s success.
