Mutual of Omaha is seeking a Business Systems Consultant (BSC) to act as a process lead, and join us as a part of our Enterprise Intelligent Automation Center of Excellence (COE). This vital role will support the Automation COE in further scaling of Intelligent Automation (IA) across the organization through various automation efforts. You will be responsible for supporting and building a strong automation pipeline as well as leading transformation efforts - it's a great opportunity to expand your horizons in the Intelligent Automation space while being part of a high performing team. 

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • Estimated Salary (Levels have variable responsibilities and qualifications) 
    • BSC I: $72,000 - $94,000 plus annual bonus opportunity.
    • BSC II: $82,500 - $109,000 plus annual bonus opportunity.
    • BSC III: $94,500 - $140,000 plus annual bonus opportunity.
  • Benefits and Perks, 401(k) plan with a 2% company contribution and 6% company match.
  • Regular associates working 40 hours a week can earn up to 15 days of vacation each year.
  • Regular associates receive 11 paid holidays in 2024, which includes 2 floating holidays that are added to your prorated personal time to be used at your discretion.
  • Regular associates are provided sick leave through the use of personal time. Associates working 40 hours a week can receive up to 40 hours of personal time in 2024, which is prorated based on the start date. Additionally you will receive two floating holidays in 2024 by way of personal time that may be used at your discretion.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Lead Process Analysis: Spearhead analysis, design, and documentation of automation using Lean Six Sigma principles.
  • Collaborate for Development Success: Lead collaboration with business and technical teams, defining target states, and creating essential documents like PDD and SDD for seamless development.  Analyze and clearly document PDD business requirements for process automation including exception handling and process metrics.  Record and communicate defects identified by the business in customer acceptance testing and assists both developers and business process owners understand gaps in requirements resulting in exceptions and defects.
  • End-to-End Process Understanding: Partner with Process Owners and SMEs to grasp processes for automation, outlining impacted processes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships, influence SMEs and business stakeholders towards change, automation, and operational excellence.  Delivers roadshow presentations when requested by business areas.
  • Guidance on Lean Six Sigma: Provide team guidance on lean six sigma principles and conducts /supports automation opportunity scan (triage) when prompted, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. 

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • At least 2 years in an Intelligent Automation/RPA environment, combined with experience with business/system analysis and requirement documentation.
  • Can-do attitude, motivated to pick up challenges and open to changes in how things are done.
  • Ability to support/coach/lead junior team members. Comfortable collaborating in remote environment.  
  • A strong ROI mindset that conducts thorough cost benefit analysis for automation opportunities.
  • Customer focused with a deep knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction.
  • You promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do.
  • Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.

VALUABLE EXPERIENCE:

  • Lean Six Sigma certification with a background in process improvement and/or operational excellence is strongly preferred.  Experience with process/task mining as well as other Intelligent Automation tools and capabilities is desired. 
  • Prior experience using business process management (BPM) to drive process excellence.
  • Knowledge of insurance domain processes such as acquisition, fulfillment, claims, servicing, etc. is a plus.
