Business Sales Manager, Makeup
Luxury Sales - Sephora within Kohl's, (SWAK)

We are looking for a Business Sales Manager to join our Luxury Sephora Sell In team. This role will enable Sephora within Kohl's to further strengthen our portfolio by executing strategic priorities that drive market share. Key deliverables of the role will be Sales Plan Achievement, Account Activation, buying office collaboration and Forecast Accuracy. Problem solving and ability to develop relationships that deliver results across cross functional teams are key strengths needed to succeed in this role. This role reports into the VP of Sales Sephora, and will diligently work with our brand marketing, demand planning, and .com teams. You will get to work within the fastest growing channel, build awareness of the needs of this key customer and disrupt the beauty market.
THE ROLE
In this role you will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Achieve gross and net sales targets: set up and maintenance of stock & sales plan to deliver targets for gross sales, retail sales, and trade spend. BSM is key lead on developing the monthly shipment forecast, tracking weekly status, liaison with customer service and retailer buying team.
- Achieve retail sales plans & gain market share: Work with sales team & account to monitor trends, analyze factors impacting performance and identify opportunity to drive profitable growth. Provide input on holiday offerings & innovation to ensure success with retailer. Attend commercial planning meetings and provide input to the organization on promotional and trade support levers needed to ensure Coty brands are competitive. Make recommendations for 360 support based on data to deliver targets for gross & retail sales.
- Lead account activation across B&M and .com: Manage & execute account activation based on strategies aligned on with sell in team, marketing, sales ops, and retail buyer to drive sell through and gain market share. Internal key lead to collaborate with customer collaboration team, trade marketing and marketing to ensure all account activations are executed with excellence. Manage side by side calendar, samples, GWPs, gift sets, Sephora Favorites, and promotional tools. Create weekly recaps for the field team. Budget management. Collaborate closely with sell through and .com partners to ensure omni channel success.
- Lead buying office support & collaboration: As the main point of contact, maintain weekly communication with Sephora within Kohl's merchant team, develop strong collaborative relationships, provide weekly agenda topics in preparation for meetings, recap meetings, ensure execution of follow-ups.
- Forecasting & benchmarking of basic, promotional items and innovation: use projections to build sales plans, partner with marketing, customer collaboration team, & account to ensure new items have appropriate like sku & penetration %, partner with SWAK merchant team to align on agreed to benchmarking & sales/receipts plans, monitor retail sales/receipt plans, compare to internal forecasts and call out opportunities or risks to forecast. Analyze sales results and impact of promotional programs and trade spend to make recommendations for future. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Inventory management: Partner with planning and analysis manager to ensure high in stock levels, ensure store in stocks for launches, events, and KCP's to monitor on hand inventory levels to identify opportunities, collaborate with demand planning do drive best in class inventory management.
- Planogram management: partner with SWAK planner to provide deep dive analysis of planogram productivity, project impacts of add vs deletes, quantify impact of space & location changes. Monitor competition and provide quarterly update of competitive merchandising, make recommendations to improve space, increase space, or maximize existing space. BSM is key lead on planogram updates and custom merchandising execution.
QUALIFICATIONS
We'd love to see candidates who have:
Essential:
- Minimum 3+ years in Sales, Category Management or Retail Management
- Strong analytical ability; attention to detail and organizational/time management skills
- Ability to work with/interpret data from multiple sources to provide actionable conclusions.
- Advanced excel and power point skills required.
- Syndicated data experience preferred (IRI, Nielsen, NPD, etc.)
- Experience in Beauty/Fashion industry a plus
- Desire to work in a strong team environment.
- Well-developed interpersonal / communication skills. Has an ability to build relationships to drive results and can present regularly to small-medium size groups.
- Demonstrates problem solving skills and working under tight timelines; multi-tasking abilities; exception-based management capability.
- Ability to balance priorities across multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to learn new systems quickly and leverage systems and information to influence others.
- Well organized, with a passion for follow-through and completion
- Flexibility to travel as required.
