Title: Interiors Technician – Finishing

Summary: Accomplish various repairs, refinishing, and component assembly of business aircraft interior components/systems under minimal supervision with emphasis on superb quality and artisanship.
Responsibilities:
- Perform repair activities on non-conforming parts in accordance with the Repair Work Instructions, Quality System Manuals, and applicable standards and specifications.
- Prepare surfaces for painting using established practices and materials. Surfaces may be plastic or composite (fiberglass/carbon/laminate, etc.)
- Work with wood veneers to remove imperfections and prepare for revarnish as necessary
- Apply paint and or lacquer in accordance with requirements and specifications.
- Polish wood veneered surfaces to specified standards.
- Perform inspection of parts received, identify defects and repackage as necessary to protect the product for further damage.
- Check availability of materials needed and coordinate requirements with supervisor.
- Record information as required including hours, part identification, responsible person and actions taken on provided documents.
- Provide documents and parts to inspection upon completion. Perform any additional work necessary to obtain final approval. Pack parts for returning to customer.
- Accomplish all work and maintenance with superb quality within budget and scheduled timeframe.
- Perform maintenance, cleaning and daily 5S work in the area. Maintain tool-accountability for tools and insure their upkeep and calibration as required. Take immediate corrective action regarding any unsafe or unfit conditions.
- Comply with Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) practices and procedures as defined in the Emergency Action Plan and related training.
- Maintain continuity at shift turnovers through communication with supervisor.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
Required Skills
- Use of spray gun and equipment, hand tools, operating sanders, scrappers, and other similar equipment.
- Skills in aerospace painting, polishing, and re-varnish expertise
- Basic Computer Skills for accessing drawings and documents.
- Accurately read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, drawings and work instructions.
Preferred qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED AND two (2) years as a business aircraft interiors technician OR
- Three years relevant and related business aircraft interiors experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience and training.
- Aircraft Interior Removal & Installation experience would be an asset.

This position requires the use of vision up close (clear vision at 20 inches or less) and at a distance (clear vision at 20 feet or more), the ability to identify and distinguish colors, peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up, down or to the left and/or right while the eyes are fixed on a given point), depth perception (three dimensional vision, ability to judge distance and spatial relationships), and the ability to adjust focus.
Work environment: The Interiors Technician performs work in a production environment and may regularly be exposed to dust and heat. Occasional exposure to loud noise (e.g., drilling) and fumes or airborne particles should be expected. Minimal exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals is present. Personal protective equipment may be required.

Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
