Job description

Business Intelligence & Market Infrastructure Analyst

Location: Greensboro, NC, US, 27409
Position Type: Professional
Transport is at the core of modern society. Imagine using your expertise to shape sustainable transport solutions for the future? If you seek to make a difference on a global scale, working with next-gen technologies and the sharpest collaborative teams, then we could be a perfect match.
What you will do
The market uptake of new vehicle technologies and new fuels is highly dependent on the availability of a supporting infrastructure. It means that the global understanding of what, where and when in terms of charging and fueling infrastructure is a foundation for planning products effectively.

The objective with this position as a Business Intelligence & analyst in the team is to assess the sales potential of low carbon footprint vehicles based on infrastructure forecasts. The first part of this is the infrastructure forecasting. You will need to collect external and internal information and transform to forecasted roll-out plans for infrastructure solutions. Timing, type, locations, and density are key parameters. The second part is to assess the matching with vehicle needs and Volvo Group vehicle plans.

Participating in a team for fuel price forecasting is a complementary task and deliverable which you also will be involved in.

In this role it is important to have a deep understanding of the energy industry. You are therefore expected to have or develop a network within that area. Besides open information and publications, conferences, seminars, industry associations, academia and our Volvo Group initiatives are necessary information sources. Your closest colleagues will have the vehicle plans at their fingertips.

Your future team
At Strategic Product Planning, we work with the Volvo Group products from a global and strategic perspective and through our industry knowledge we apply a holistic approach towards a visionary Product and Service offer. Our team is brave and inclusive, and we are passionate about inspiring the organization towards the future.

Sustainable Power is a function within Strategic Product Planning. We support Strategic Product Planning and Volvo Group Trucks Technology with Product Plans and strategies focusing a wide range of technology areas such as internal combustion engines, battery electric solutions, fuel cell solutions, and propulsion systems. Needless to say, these interesting areas are of high importance for a successful journey towards 100% fossil free in 2040.
Who are you?
Do you dream big? We do too, and we are excited to grow together. In this role, you will bring:
  • Experience from working with the energy sector, with a basic understanding of their business rationale and challenges.
  • Ability to select information and filter relevant information from noise is important.
  • Traits such as being analytical and structured as well as being an effective communicator.
  • Leadership: You will not have direct reports, but you are nevertheless in a leading position, expected to strongly influence on our future.
  • Master's degree education.
  • Experience from other industries is a merit.
  • Ability to work Autonomously: Having your direct manager abroad means that you need to be comfortable to work autonomously towards agreed targets.
What’s in it for you?
We offer a solid package of compensation and benefits, including:
  • Competitive medical, dental and vision insurance.
  • Generous paid time off including paid caregiver and parental leave policies.
  • Competitive matching retirement savings plans.
  • Working environment where your safety, health and wellbeing come first.
