JOB DETAILS:
UW Stout is hiring an 18-month Business Intelligence Developer. This position will collaborate with campus stakeholders/sponsors to prioritize, design, develop and launch Tableau-based dashboards and reports. Data will be sourced from AWS Redshift and used to replace reports originally developed in Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition with data sourced in Oracle RDS.
UW Stout¿s reporting and analytics team is the data backbone of the college. The work is collaborative, challenging and results in data-driven decision-making to ensure we are maximizing the resources we are entrusted with in our mission to educate students and meet changing workforce needs.
This position will be filled as a Business Intelligence Developer 2 through 3 pursuant to the candidate¿s knowledge and experience.
Anticipated start date: July 22, 2024
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills
  • Associate degree in computer science/engineering, information technology, management information systems, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with data reporting and visualization tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects, tasks, and resources.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely through verbal and written communication to various stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
  • BS/BA degree in computer science/engineering, information technology, management information systems, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.
  • Two years of Tableau report development experience and/or relevant certifications.
  • Experience with Amazon Redshift and related AWS data management tools and/or relevant certifications.
  • Experience with Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition.
  • Experience working with Oracle Campus Solutions, Workday, or other Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Experience writing SQL queries, analyzing data, and utilizing APIs.
  • Knowledge and understanding of academic business processes.
  • Experience with information security, compliance, and/or audit.
  • Demonstrated experience working in an environment that embraces equity, diversity, and inclusion.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop Tableau reports and dashboards to support business processes replacing existing Oracle OBIEE/RDS resources.
    • Analyze existing reports and dashboards to determine the scope of effort ad resource requirements.
    • Work with stakeholders to determine priorities and identify resources.
    • Review solution architecture with project team throughout the design and development process.
    • Design and build Tableau dashboards and reports using data sourced in AWS Redshift to enhance and replace current reports.
    • Decommission Oracle Business Intelligence dashboards and reports sourced using Oracle RDS data resources.
    • Manage project schedules and resources.
    • Document development progress and results.
    • Provides support and training to technical as well as the general user community.
    • Communicate with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. The minimum starting salary is $60,000. This is a full-time annual exempt position. This position may qualify for hybrid and/or fully remote work commensurate with qualifications and experience and in accordance with the UW-System telecommuting policy.
