Business Innovation Apprentice

At PAWS Chicago, were on a mission to build No Kill communities. What started as a grassroots movement in Chicago has impacted the lives of hundreds of thousands of people and pets. Our solutions-based approach is grounded in our values; we respect the lives of the homeless cats and dogs we rescue, and value the people who make that lifesaving work possible.

We are seeking a problem solver who has a passion for business and a relentless focus on details and delivery. You will be successful with a healthy combination of both organizational skills and business acumen. As our Business Innovation Apprentice, you will get involved with all functions of the business from communications to animal care to project planning. You will support both new and ongoing projects across the organization that solve problems and create change with a meaningful impact. In the process, you will develop a deep understanding of the business, our operations, further strengthen your project management skills, leadership and presentation skills while gaining exposure to a variety of teams (and animals) at PAWS.

As our Business Innovation Apprentice, you will collaborate with a diverse group of individuals across the organization. Your key responsibilities will be,

• Articulating insights and recommending solutions to drive performance.
• Lead and participate in special projects and initiatives.
• Material creation that supports the projects you are involved in.
• Provide administrative support.
• Lead project tasks to drive projects forward.
• Assess project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable.

Basic Requirements:

• Passion for animals and believe in our mission to create a No Kill Chicago.
• Ability to adapt, work collaboratively with a team, and solve problems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Great organizational and prioritization skills.
• Experience with Office Suite.
