Job description

The Enterprise Software Solutions department at Argonne National Laboratory invites you to work with the team supporting the Laboratory's central software and services. This position involves applying computer science to problem solving, analyzing requirements, and recommending and designing the means for meeting those requirements, either by revising existing systems or developing new ones.

The position provides effective systems support across a broad range of technologies and applications; completes programming using languages and software products; designs and conducts tests; addresses the root causes of problems; and recommends long-term solutions.
Argonne National Laboratory is a multidisciplinary science and engineering research center, where talented scientists and engineers work together to answer the biggest questions facing humanity. Located in the southwest suburbs of Chicago, the laboratory works in concert with universities, industry, and other national laboratories on questions and experiments too large for any one institution to do by itself. Through collaborations here and around the world, we strive to discover new ways to develop energy innovations through science, create novel materials molecule-by-molecule, and gain a deeper understanding of our planet, our climate, and the cosmos.
At Argonne, we explore the world together in order to build a better one!
The world's best and brightest minds come to Argonne-minds that are curious and bursting with new ideas. Minds that have a passion for excellence and innovation. Whether it be for premier research opportunities, a chance to blend work and home life, a diverse community of colleagues or a place where others genuinely care about the planet, Argonne offers something for you. We offer work-life balance, professional development opportunities, and a culture of innovation that embraces diversity, inclusion, flexibility, collaboration, and career growth.
At Argonne National Laboratory you will have the opportunity to contribute to and support research that addresses our nation's challenges and advances the frontiers of science and technology. Our science impacts the world and you can be a part of that! Whatever your role-scientist, engineer, or support staff--there is a path for you here at Argonne.
