The Business Informaticist IV works within the Presbyterian Medical Group (PMG) Business Informatics team - functioning as a Lead alongisde four (4) Analysts.

 

This role provides technical, business analysis and project leadership in developing and/or implementing workflows within the EPIC EMR - working with other analysts (e.g., EPIC build analysts, data analysts, and clinical informaticists across the organization) to problem-solve interface issues.

 

The Business Informatics team helps with the digital transformation of the PMG outpatient clinics' clerical workflows and processes. The team helps to drive operational decisions based on a data-driven model - running reports from EPIC and analyzing the data to create reports and presentations for leadership.

 

With the help of EPIC Anlaysts, this team assists in designing, developing and implementing new technologies to automate or streamline clerical workflows and improve the patient experience during check-in, check-out, registration and scheduling processes.

 

 

 


  • Bachelors degree in business, healthcare administration or equivalent degree program. Masters degree preferred.
  • Six (6) or more years of technical experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMRs), systems development, and/or systems management or engineering from a functional standpoint.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of project management experience, and three (3) years of operational experience.
  • Epic certification is required within 18 months of hire.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications to include Excel, Word, Visio, Project and Powerpoint.

  • Tests all vendor enhancements for Softmed applications, software programs. Creates supportive documentation based on testing and validates all enhancements against current workflows. Makes recommendations around workflow changes to assure maximal use of application.
  • Implements all new functionality in a timely manner. Coordinates that implementation with the operational end users and IT.
  • Overall system administration (problem prevention and resolution)
  • Provides end user training of in-production systems.
  • Regularly meets with end users to understand their needs, concerns, issues with the application. Works to address those issues. Serves as liaison translating these needs, issues so that the application can be modified to meet customer expectations.
  • Serves as primary point of contact for all issues related to systems.
  • Demonstrates excellent analytical, problem solving, investigative and research ability as evidenced by defining, evaluating and selecting appropriate solutions to business problems or opportunities.
  • Provides implementation/maintenance assistance for department specific applications.
  • Assist in the training of users in the correct workflows and processes to use the application. Provides documentation to the end user on how to use the system.
  • Performs activities that promote quality, facilitate resource management and progress reporting. Meet schedules and deadlines.
  • Serves as an integral part of the team that is supporting the overall management of clinical data management, management and data reporting.

The compensation range for this role takes into account a wide range of factors, including but not limited to experience and training, internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each offer.
USD $55.26/Hr.
