Hospital ADMINISTRATOR/DIRECTOR
We are looking for a Hospital Administrator/Director to join our Sirius Vet Team and help take us to the next level!
Working in conjunction with the chief of surgery/owners, staff surgeons, and practice personnel, this leadership role will oversee and support all aspects of clinic culture, execute on human resource policies and procedures, help improve operational efficiency through effective project and people management, and assist with full P&L responsibilities. The role will be responsible for daily practice operations including both patient and employee experience. The Hospital Administrator/ Director will advise on strategic initiatives including critical decisions to propel our business forward.
Sirius Veterinary Orthopedic Center (SVOC) opened its doors in December 2016 with one surgeon, one customer care representative, and two technical support staff in a 1,100 square foot clinic. We now employ over 30 people and work out of a 10,000 square foot, state-of-the-art surgical facility. We are the first (and only), small animal orthopedic veterinary hospital in the Omaha metro area. We have enjoyed 20-40% growth year over year in the last six years.
At SVOC, we treat companion animals with all kinds of orthopedic ailments from torn ligaments to angular limb deformities to total hip replacements. At our hospital, we feel that all our patients are athletes. All you have to do is watch a pet spring off your bed or bolt up a flight of stairs to see how truly athletic they are. Whether your athlete is a champion agility dog or the family pet, it will be treated as if it were our own.
Job Duties / Essential Functions:
Supports the team, mission, vision, culture, and policies of SVOC
Collaborates with the SVOC support staff on a regular basis (Surgical Staff, Facilities, Customer Service Personnel, Legal, etc.) through structured meetings and ad hoc project management
Conducts regular meetings with owners and staff to celebrate successes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement; serves as a liaison between owners of the practice and the full SVOC team
Ensures clarity, ownership and traction on various practice projects
Acts as primary owner and champion for culture building efforts to sustain a high-achieving team
Supports and/or provides structure and organization where needed
Designs, implements, upholds human resources practices ensuring legal compliance; will partner to hire, train, develop and/or exit staff as needed
Upholds and ensures centers compliance of all operations policies and procedures
Ensures proper implementation of all SVOC’s training and service programs
Monitors and assists with emergency/crisis situations
Resolves any escalated customer and staff complaints; supports leadership in performance management
Ensures that SVOC provides top quality care for our guests, including the delivery of exceptional customer service and salesmanship
Provide guidance, structure, and/or resources for new business ideas
Develops short-term and long-term strategies to improve SVOC’s performance and helps create clear communications and programs for change management to implement the new strategies
Monitors and analyzes revenue and expenses (P&L) while establishing and managing the budget
Analyzes and utilizes financial reports and statistics to conduct monthly reviews of profit & loss statements with owners.
Prepares and presents quarterly business reviews
Preferred experience, skills, and attributes:
College degree in relevant field (required)
5+ years leading organizational strategy with history of growth
Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (preferred)
2+ years of experience working in veterinary clinic at management level (preferred)
Passionate about providing quality care - to pets and people!
Strong background in driving performance excellence through effective people management and talent enabling
Previous history managing Profit & Loss responsibility; preferably in hospitality, healthcare, or service industry
Experience in problem-solving, exercising sound judgment, maintaining confidentiality with the ability to interact professionally and effectively with any audience
Experience in planning/organizing, presenting and executing approved business ideas
Comfort with Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite of applications
Self-starter with strong time management skills
Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and motivational skills
Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander and excretions
