Interns will gain knowledge and experience through exciting and real-life learning opportunities. Interns must work in accordance with DTNA's core values of passion, respect, integrity and discipline. Internship positions can be located at various DTNA locations across the US. We are looking for high performing and motivated individuals in various areas within DTNA organizations. DTNA internships begin each summer in May or June.

Interns in these roles may have the opportunity to transition into a full-time position subject to manager evaluations and business availability.
Carefully read through our brief position summaries within these various Business Functions. Internships may encompass multiple aspects of the summaries below. When applying, please indicate which aspects you are most interested in.
Finance & Accounting:
- In new product projects like Autonomous and E-Mobility, we work in collaboration with Controlling, Purchasing and Engineering departments to set cost targets to help realize or maintain project budgets. Furthering into design change or series support, we aide with design-to-cost optimization, provide gap analysis to support commercial negotiations and assist with establishing long-term strategies with our suppliers.
- The Finance Operations team designs, operates and controls the Finance Operational processes of DTNA. The Central Services Team within Finance Operations is responsible for Intercompany Accounting, Master Records and Payments as well as our Finance Concierge service. Candidates will gain an understanding of the services we provide and the value to the Finance organization and beyond. Focus on contributing to Intercompany strategic projects and Continuous Improvement opportunities across the team. There will be opportunities to collaborate with other departments within Finance Operations to experience a wide range of topics.
Project Management:
- Project management is at the core of effective solutions at DTNA. Our project management interns utilize a systematic approach to guarantee the timely and budget-compliant delivery of projects. Collaboratively, students will plan, execute, and oversee projects, driving efficiency, process optimization, and an improved alignment with market demands and customer expectations. In this dynamic and evolving business environment, project management interns not only ensure project success but also actively contributes to the ongoing innovation and industry leadership at DTNA. Our project management interns take a hands-on approach, working closely with experienced professionals in various departments, and play a vital role in supporting project execution and iteration.
Sales & Marketing:
- The On-Highway Segment Strategy team is responsible for driving Voice-of-Customer feedback for our Freightliner and Western Star On-Highway models, to the marketing, platform strategy, and engineering organizations. We work closely with DTNA internal sales organization to leverage customer and dealer feedback to understand market needs and get project specific feedback early in the roadmap process. Be responsible for supporting the team with research of market requirements and competitive landscape, develop recommendations for future product roadmap input, and support the team with various data reports on market conditions.
- Support the implementation and organization of the brand marketing team's content strategy and develop content as needed for digital platforms including social media channels and other internal platforms. Work in collaboration with members of the marketing communications team and external agency partners to support marketing efforts for the Freightliner, Western Star, and Detroit brands.

Salary placement is determined by your anticipated graduation year and ranges between $21 - $30 per hour.

Knowledge You Should Bring
  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's/PhD Program from an accredited college/university or have graduated within the last 12 months.
