Job Title: Business Development Professional
Full Time, Exempt
Reports to: VP of Business Development
Pay: $60-70K / Year
Location: Office, Field, and Occasional Remote Locations

The R&S Logistics, Inc. Business Development Professional supports the VP of Business Development with tasks such as creating and managing email campaigns, integrating these campaigns within HubSpot, and managing the CRM. In order to fully support the Sales and Business Development functions, the ideal candidate will excel at attaining and maintaining familiarity with other aspects of R&S Logistics, Inc.'s business functions. The Business Development Professional will also leverage SEO, website, blog, and social media outlets to communicate R&S Logistics, Inc's capabilities for our target customers and the general community. The successful candidate is eager to learn, organized and self-motivated, and demonstrates strong verbal and advanced written communication skills.

  • Bachelor's Degree Marketing, Sales or Related Field or Equivalent Experience Preferred

Responsibilities and Duties:
The R&S Logistics Marketing and Sales Support Professional has a variety of responsibilities and duties, including but not limited to:
  • Coordinate with Business Development Personnel to maintain accurate and up-to-date information in CRM.
  • Align email campaigns with company sales tactics and goals.
  • Leverage Blog Posts, Social Media, and other resources to support Sales and Marketing Functions.
  • Execute and Analyze SEO strategies for optimizing qualified lead generation.
  • Maintain familiarity with Operations and Warehouse Management System (WMS) to enhance Sales Acumen
  • Build and Maintain Company Presence on social media in a way that accurately communicates the voice and heart of the company.
  • Represent R&S Logistics at local community events such as Chamber of Commerce activities.
  • Research and recommend new business tools to better support Business Development (Occasional)
  • Research and recommend best practices for maintaining and utilizing Business Development tools and software, including CRM.

Required Skills:
  • Proficiency with MS Office Products, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Familiarity with HubSpot CRM Platform
  • Proficiency with Social Media Outlets (including but not limited to Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and Instagram).
  • Ability to Collaborate between Departments, Vendors, and Customers
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills, Including Demonstrating a "Can Do" Attitude
  • Ability to Independently Handle Multiple Priorities and Projects
  • Strong Verbal and Advanced Written Communication Skills
  • Thorough Knowledge of English Grammar, Punctuation, and Spelling.

Fundamental Job Requirements:
The R&S Logistics Business Development Professional can perform the following tasks, with or without accommodations:
  • Remaining in a stationary position (often standing, sitting, or driving) for prolonged periods.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers (such as data entry and keyboarding)
  • Infrequently Lifting up to 20 pounds

  • Maintaining a Clean Motor Vehicle Report

Scorecard: Business Development Professional
Mission:
The Business Development Professional supports the Business Development VP and furthers knowledge and positive perception of the company in the community and online.
The Business Development Professional manages and makes recommendations concerning the CRM, represents R&S at community events, oversees our website and online strategy, and creatively manages and maintains our social media presence. The role will proactively manage SEO in order to effectively target niche customers as defined by the Business Development VP and/or COO.
The Business Development Professional proactively seeks deeper understanding of our business practices and customer relationships in order to best accomplish the mission of the role.
The Business Development Professional is engaged in continuing education opportunities in order to best accomplish the mission of the role.
Objectives:
CMR:
  • Identify and Schedule CRM Skills Training within first 30 Days
    • Complete within first 6 months
  • Assume Daily Management of CRM by Day 30
  • Build out and Optimize CRM by Day 90, maintaining thereafter.
  • Coordinate Cross-Dock Leads with Operations to expedite customer responses.
  • Build CRM Automations to optimize communication flow within first 90 Days
  • Function as point-of-contact for Business Development VP leads for CRM input, follow-up.

SEO:
  • Identify and Schedule SEO Skills Training within first 30 Days
    • Complete within first 6 Months.
  • Work with Business Development VP during Q2 to determine metrics for Q3 2024 - Q2 2025 for the following:
    • Increased Website Visits
    • Increased Time Spent on each Website Visit
  • Maintain average of 1 Online Customer Review per Week

Industry:
  • Complete IWLA Essentials or comparable course by end of Year 1.
  • Attend IWLA Warehouse Marketing Special Interest Group Virtual Monthly Meetings
  • Attend Semi-Annual UT Supply Chain Forum Conferences.

Community:
  • Represent R&S Logistics, Inc. by attending at least one community event per month.
  • Represent R&S Logistics, Inc. by co-hosting or sponsoring at least 2 community events per year.

KPIs:
  • Increase qualified leads by 50% by end of Month 6.
  • Increase qualified leads by 100% by end of Year 1.
  • Weekly Review Session of KPIs, Scorecard with Business Development VP.
