Business Development Intern

Loureiro Engineering Associates is seeking a Business Development Intern for our location in Plainville, CT.

Intern/Co-Op will contribute to a fast-paced growing team in the Business Development/Work Waste department and will perform tasks independently while working closely with individual team members to ensure that objectives are met.

We are looking for a candidate that can work a minimum of 15 hours per week starting this winter. We look for people who want to grow, support, think and produce. This is a paid internship.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Generate qualified leads for the BD team so they can provide a quick response to customers.
• Prospect potential customers via cold calling, email, or other forms of communication to ensure they are added to the sales pipeline and produce more qualified leads.
• Maintain the client database to make sure the sales team can access current information on all leads.
• Forecasting future market, consumer, and sales trends.
• Working with the marketing team to inform and develop marketing strategies.
• Build long-term trusting relationships with clients.
• Performs Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
• Create & Record Month End Journal Entries.
• Assist in Month End Close.
• Develop Process Improvements within accounting.
• Inputs accounting and project control data, AP invoices, etc. into accounting systems, etc.
• Assists with reporting & analytical needs of organization.

Education and Skills Required:

• A Junior or Senior student majoring in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Management or Strategy (or related field)
• Fluency in English (written and spoken)
• Additional language skills are an advantage
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications: Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Highly organized and structured
• Logical and lateral thinker
• Strongly motivated to perform, learn and improve
• Flexibility to accommodate frequent travel
• Proactively takes the initiative beyond the tasks assigned and is resourceful
• Team player, open-minded, possesses cultural awareness and sensitivity
• Mature demeanor and positive attitude, as well as discretion and sensitivity when dealing with clients
• Willingness to commit to and align with company culture and values
