Job Description
SEWS - KCSC— Business Continuity Planner. Although located at SEWS Lexington office this is a flexible Work From Home position, which means an associate has the flexibility to work from home, but is expected to report to the local office as needed or required.
Business Continuity Planner, interfaces with each facilities Crisis Management Team to ensure Business Continuity policies, procedures, and guidelines are executed. They ensure each facility has an individualized Business Continuity Plan and oversees the implementation and maintenance of all new plans. They conduct periodic reviews, meetings, and follow-up sessions by phone, WebEx, or in-person with each facility in order to update and maintain all guidelines are included and updated as needed.
This position will work closely with other departments as they audit and train associates at all location on their Business Continuity Plan. They will facilitate and support gradual improvement (kaizen) through meetings, Business Continuity document review, and follow-up sessions. This position will interact with other associates in support of all SEWS Business Continuity Planning.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Facilitate / Support BCM, Business Continuity Management, Department Annual Corporate BCP, Business Continuity Plan, Program Activities:
· Coordinate, document, and communicate BCP-related deliverables, project schedules, status, and due dates (via meetings, in applications, and via internal communication)
· Work with CMT, Crisis Management Team, and facility coordinators to update and maintain plan sections such as sales, business impact analysis, and risk countermeasures
· Ensure the corporate communication plan remains accurate and current
· Coordinate with quality management department manager to ensure plan compliance with IATF requirements.
- Facilitate / Support SEWS BCP Activities for Corporate Deliverables:
- Support publishing global standards within the risk management application(s)
- Aid in annual risk inventory and BCP plan completion and submittal processes.
- Ensure timely coordination and response to inquiries from external and internal stakeholders
• Facilitate or Support BCP Coordinators, CMT across regional facilities:
· Support facility CMT and department staff & management with training and maintenance of BIA and Plans, including content, formatting, and approvals
· Support training activities
· Support periodic tabletop exercises and crisis-related drills.
• Facilitate / Support coordination with Parent Company BCM Management:
· Track deliverable content change points, internal status, and due dates
· Assist in uploading SEWS BCP documentation to SEI/SWS file server and systems.
• Facilitate / Support Maintenance of SEWS BCM Application(s):
· Support new user setup, internal contact lists, and all new user and refresher training.
· Support application content management, including sections such as BIAs, risks, plans, exercises, and incidents
• Facilitate / Support CTPAT, Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism, and 3rd Party Risk:
· Support Customs Compliance Department with CTPAT matters.
· Help support the development of crisis reporting, CTPAT, and 3rd Party Risk procedures and applications
REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and basic time management skills.
- Basic knowledge of Disaster Recovery
- Team player. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and build strong, positive relationships with various levels of staff and management
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree.
- 2-3 years' experience in Business Continuity planning and/or disaster recovery.
- Familiarity with Business Continuity Professional certifications like ABCP, CBCP
- Familiarity with Castellan and Smartsheet is beneficial.
