As a First Choice Business Brokers agent/broker, you will help business owners sell their businesses. Whether you are an experienced Business Broker, or just beginning your career, our innovative training program will educate you on the industry, valuable resources, contracts and processes. Very similar to being a real estate agent, Business Brokers are operating their own businesses with help from their principal broker. The Day to Day:

You will build relationships with small and medium size business owners and help them prepare their business to be confidentially listed. Once the business is listed you will be the transaction manager for the buyer screening, offer, due diligence, and closing process.

Q What is Business Broker?

A Business Brokers help business owners find buyers for their businesses.

Q. How do I become a Business Broker?

A.You will receive first class training on how to talk to the business owners. Buyers will find you through our massive advertising on business sales web sites.

Q. Do I need a special license?

A.Certain states require a real estate license. Missouri, Arkansas, and Texas (Nebraska does not).

Q. How do I receive an income or how do I get paid?

A.We charge a Business Owner from 10% to 15% based on the selling price or $15,000 Minimum, which we collect when the business is transferred to the new owner. The agent starts at a 50% split of the fee and it goes up from there. It is important to know that the average deal takes 7-9 months.... sometimes up to a year to close. Agents must self-support for the first year or slowly transition from another career as deals start to close.

Q. Who is First Choice Business Brokers?

A.First Choice has been in business in since 1994. We are a National Business BrokerageFranchise with 60 offices in 27 states.

Q. Is this a salaried position?

A.No. Business brokerage is a commission profession. However, top agents can expect to earn $250,000 if you follow our training and our system. Some top-performing agents do earn over $1 million per year.

Q. Was Business Sales affected by the recession or Corona Virus?

A. Almost no effect. Our business sales were strong during and after the recession and even during the CV pandemic.

Q. Is this an overcrowded profession? In other words is there a lot of competition?

A.There are very few Business Brokers. Our National Organization (IBBA) has approximately 900 members Worldwide. There 4,000 Business Brokers in the entire US. As a comparison, in Las Vegas where our Corporate office is located, there are 23,000 realtors and only THIRTY full time Business Brokers.

Q. How is the current economy and pandemic affecting Business Sales?

A.One word could answer this question, Booming. We have seen more buyers in these last few years who want to join in the growth of the US and become a part of the“American dream” of owning a business. We have always found that the Buyers are always looking to take advantage of growing industries. Previously and according to Fox Business Report, Business Sales have been growing each year. Now is certainly the time to enter our profession.

Q. What is the preferred background of a successful agent?

A.Business to Business sales background, prior business owners, professionals, someone who is willing to learn the business and able to understand why a person is in business and why a Buyer wants to be self-employed. Our agents come from a variety of backgrounds, not necessarily any sales.

Q. Is this a “Sales” position?

A.The Business Broker’s tasks are to assist business owners who want to sell and then advertise that business to prospective Buyers. A Business Broker helps to negotiate, mediate and be the consultant to the Buyer and/or Seller. We are providing a service.

Q. Do I need to be an accountant or have an accounting background?

A Although we do have former accountants in our group, an accounting background is NOT required.

Q. What else is required to join First Choice?

A.You must be able present yourself in a professional manner to clients.

Q. Can I keep my regular job while getting licensed and receiving training?

A. We understand that this may be necessary, and we will work with qualified candidates.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year
