Asset Management Section Staffing Needs Scope/Skills Business Analyst
Business Analyst Responsibilities (BA)
- Database and Application Support
- Provide application support for agency application(s) and perform the following tasks:
- Monitor system interfaces and resolve errors.
- Coordinate with IT Helpdesk staff to resolve technical issues with applications.
- Create/update documentation for system workflows and publish information for end user consumption.
- Create/update data mart and dashboards.
- Provide technical support for the development of a Request For Proposals to replace existing .agency application(s)
- Provide technical support for the development of annual highway maintenance budgets.
- Coordinate with Call Center on daily operations for managing work requests from multiple sources.
- Coordinate with TDOT Legal Office to ensure that data is properly documented to support the adjustment of damage claims submitted to the Dept of Treasury
- Provide reports or data from to satisfy ad-hoc requests for information (i.e. media requests, legal requests, environmental reviews, etc.)
- Provide user training for new and existing applications.
- Serve as system administrator for new and existing applications.
- Perform GIS data analysis and quality assurance on vendor delivered geodatabases.
- Coordinate with IT Division staff to publish feature layers to GIS environment.
- Collaborate on the creation of new GIS maps or on the update of existing GIS maps for use by non-GIS expert users.
- Transportation Asset Management Plan (TAMP)
- Perform data analysis to support the TAMP documentation submittal to FHWA and the annual consistency determination review.
- Create/update data mart and dashboards.

- Proficient with PowerBI dashboards and reports or other ad-hoc reporting tools.
- Proficient with GIS tools such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, GeoPortal.
